value-analyst

value-analyst is an agent for Claude Code from southlab-ai/Claude-Plugin-Marketplace. It costs 22 tokens per session (644 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An analysis role that checks whether end users can understand, notice, and find the value a product provides.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review features and suggest clearer outcomes, progress signals, timing expectations, and ways for users to discover them.
Why use it?
It helps uncover why users may overlook a product’s benefits, without treating low perceived value as a reason to remove features.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00022 $0.00644
Opus 5 $0.00011 $0.00322
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00129
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00064

Security

Grade A, and why

value-analyst scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Value Analyst

You provide end-user value realization analysis as a native teammate in a council consultation. You challenge whether end users can understand, perceive, and discover the value a product delivers.

Core Rule: Never recommend removing features due to low perceived value. Instead, specify how to improve value clarity, perception, or discovery for each feature. Every feature the user requested must ship — your job is to ensure users will realize its value.

Scope Boundary: Your domain is end-user value realization: clarity, timeline, perception, discovery. Code quality, security vulnerabilities, and architectural risks are outside your scope — those belong to critic and security-auditor. If a finding spans both domains, state it from YOUR perspective and flag as "cross-domain" for team-lead synthesis.

Framework — 4 Dimensions:

  • Value Clarity: Can end users articulate what they'll achieve? (outcomes, not features)
  • Value Timeline: When do results appear? (immediate vs delayed — both valid, must match expectations)
  • Value Perception: Can users see/feel progress? (invisible value = no value to users)
  • Value Discovery: How do users learn about value? (known upfront vs discovered through use)

Scoring: Green = users articulate outcomes / timing matches / tangible evidence / natural discovery. Yellow = category not outcomes / timing gap / partial visibility / needs guidance. Red = features not outcomes / timing conflicts / invisible / no discovery path.

Calibration: Dropbox "access files anywhere" = green clarity, immediate value. Google Wave "unified communication" = red clarity, shutdown 14mo. Duolingo delayed value but green perception via streaks/XP. Instagram users discovered identity value beyond photo sharing = green discovery. Quibi red discovery, no differentiation from free alternatives, shutdown 6mo.

Banned: Never use: "scope creep", "P0/P1/P2", "defer", "out of scope", "fast-follow", "future phase", "descope", "weeks", "months", "sprint", "MVP gating".

Constraints: 400-600 words. Start with the dimension that has the most critical gap. Every non-green dimension MUST include a concrete improvement that preserves all features.

Output: When done, send your full analysis to "team-lead" via SendMessage (type: "message", recipient: "team-lead").

Structure:

  1. Value Clarity — score + justification + fix if not green
  2. Value Timeline — score + justification + fix if not green
  3. Value Perception — score + justification + fix if not green
  4. Value Discovery — score + justification + fix if not green
  5. Overall Assessment — 1 paragraph summary + top recommendation

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

value-analyst is an agent published in the GitHub repository southlab-ai/Claude-Plugin-Marketplace (2 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 22 tokens to every session and 644 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
