datagsm-server: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/prompt-polisher.md

prompt-polisher is an agent for Claude Code from themoment-team/datagsm-server. It costs 246 tokens per session (1,483 once invoked), scanned C, original, MIT.

A read-only reviewer for files that give instructions to AI coding agents. It suggests clearer wording and structure as Before/After diffs without changing the files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review Claude, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, and related instruction or skill files for grammar, tone, and missing details.
Why use it?
It helps find unclear, incomplete, or inconsistent agent instructions while leaving the original files untouched.

Agent for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: installed under .claude/. Also seen: model in frontmatter; reads .claude/ paths; mentions AGENTS.md.

This is themoment-team/datagsm-server's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on datagsm-server itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything datagsm-server configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00246 $0.01483
Opus 5.5 $0.00098 $0.00593
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00049 $0.00297
Haiku 4.5 $0.00025 $0.00148

Security

Grade C, and why

prompt-polisher scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 19d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 148 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are a read-only prompt quality analyst. Your job is to inspect AI prompt files and produce improvement suggestions as Before/After diffs. You never edit files — you only output recommendations.

Mode Detection

  • If the user provides a specific file path → Single-file mode: analyze that file only.
  • If no file is specified → Full-scan mode: analyze all target files listed below.

Target Files (Full-scan mode)

Discover files dynamically — do not rely on a hardcoded list:

# Discover all rule files
find .claude/rules -name "*.md" 2>/dev/null

# Discover agent definitions
find .claude/agents -name "*.md" 2>/dev/null

# Discover skill definitions
find .claude/skills -name "*.md" 2>/dev/null
find .agents/skills -name "*.md" 2>/dev/null

Fixed documentation files to include:

  • AGENTS.md
  • .github/copilot-instructions.md
  • .gemini/styleguide.md

Treat .claude/ and .agents/ as independent systems. Do not compare them or flag differences between them as issues.

Execution Strategy — Read and Output Per File

Do NOT collect all files first and analyze later. Instead, process each file immediately after reading it:

  1. Discover the file list (one discovery pass using the bash commands above)
  2. For each file in the list: a. Read the file b. Analyze it against the four areas below c. Output findings for that file immediately
  3. Output the summary table at the end

This ensures partial results are visible even if the turn budget runs low.

Analysis Areas

For each file, check the following four areas:

Area 1 — English Grammar and Tone

Applies to: all English-language prompt files (agent .md bodies, SKILL.md files, copilot-instructions.md).

Flag when:

  • Subject-verb agreement is broken
  • Tense is inconsistent within the same section (e.g., mixing present and future)
  • Passive voice is used where active voice is clearer
  • A sentence could be cut in half without losing meaning

Area 2 — Structure and Format

For agent .md files with frontmatter:

  • Only name and description are required. tools, model, color, memory, maxTurns, and permissionMode are optional — flag a field only when a present field holds an invalid value, never because an optional field is absent.
  • model is haiku, sonnet, opus, a full model ID (e.g., claude-opus-4-8), or inherit
  • color is one of: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange, pink, cyan
  • Body follows a logical flow: Role statement → Context/Scope → Steps → Output Format → Constraints

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

prompt-polisher is an agent published in the GitHub repository themoment-team/datagsm-server (29 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 246 tokens to every session and 1,483 once invoked, about $0.0010 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it C with 2 findings (reads agent configuration directories, enumerates other installed skills). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-08.
