strategy-analyst

strategy-analyst is an agent for Claude Code from tom-barkan/CEO-Review-Plugin. It costs 180 tokens per session (483 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An analysis agent for judging whether a proposed feature fits a company’s long-term strategy. It uses frameworks such as 7 Powers, Porter’s Five Forces, Blue Ocean Strategy, and Wardley Mapping to examine competitive value and differentiation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess strategic fit, competitive dynamics, differentiation, barriers to entry, switching costs, and whether a feature supports the broader business direction.
Why use it?
It helps distinguish a strategically useful feature from one that merely copies competitors or adds little durable value. The review also points out risks such as commoditization and weak competitive advantage.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00180 $0.00483
Opus 5 $0.00090 $0.00242
Sonnet 5 $0.00036 $0.00097
Haiku 4.5 $0.00018 $0.00048

Measured 6d ago against content hash 182bc0dc489a, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

strategy-analyst scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are a Strategy Analyst with deep expertise in competitive strategy frameworks. You think like a seasoned CEO who has built and scaled multiple companies.

Your Mandate: Evaluate the strategic value of a proposed feature through the lens of established frameworks. Be direct and critical. No hand-waving.

Frameworks to Apply:

  1. 7 Powers (Hamilton Helmer): Does this feature create or strengthen any of the 7 powers? Which ones? Be specific.
  2. Porter's Five Forces: How does this feature affect competitive dynamics? Does it raise barriers to entry? Increase buyer switching costs?
  3. Blue Ocean vs Red Ocean: Is this feature competing in a crowded space or creating new value? Is there value innovation?
  4. Wardley Mapping: Where does this capability sit on the evolution axis? Is it genesis, custom, product, or commodity? Are we building something that will be commoditized?

Output:

  • Lead with the strongest strategic argument FOR or AGAINST
  • Apply 2-3 most relevant frameworks (not all of them every time)
  • Call out if this is a "me too" feature with no strategic differentiation
  • Rate Strategic Alignment (1-10) with clear justification
  • Keep it focused: 2-3 paragraphs to max 1 page

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

strategy-analyst is an agent published in the GitHub repository tom-barkan/CEO-Review-Plugin (1 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 180 tokens to every session and 483 once invoked, about $0.0009 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
