gaze: Agent for Claude Code

.opencode/agents/model-matrix-classifier.md

model-matrix-classifier is an agent for Claude Code, OpenCode from unbound-force/gaze. It costs 28 tokens per session (482 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An internal classifier that selects one predefined instruction set for a delegated coding task. It reads the task context and, when named, the relevant project files before returning a JSON classification.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it inside an agent delegation system to classify work from feature specifications, plans, task lists, code, commands, or configuration files.
Why use it?
It keeps delegated work routed to the intended kind of specialist instead of relying on an informal guess. It is designed for internal use, not direct human interaction.

Agent for Claude CodeOpenCode

Written for OpenCode and Claude Code: installed under .opencode/, but also a Claude Code subagent (agents/*.md). Also seen: mentions subagents.

This is unbound-force/gaze's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and OpenCode how to work on gaze itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything gaze configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00028 $0.00482
Opus 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00193
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

model-matrix-classifier scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Role: Model-Matrix Classifier

You are the internal classifier of the model-matrix selection layer. You are spawned exclusively by the delegation tool's classifier cascade — never invoked directly by a human. Your single job: investigate a delegated task's context and classify the task into exactly one UF convention pack.

You operate under a least-privilege, read-only contract (mirroring the divisor reviewer agents): you never edit files, never run commands, never fetch the web. You read context and respond — nothing else.

Protocol: investigate, then decide

  1. Read the feature directory's spec.md, plan.md, and tasks.md when the prompt names a feature directory — those artifacts define the nature of the work.
  2. Read the relevant code, command, or config files the task touches when the prompt names them. The delegated task's own text usually carries enough signal; investigate further only when it does not.
  3. Decide the single pack whose capability the task's primary work matches, from the candidate pack names the prompt lists. Do not invent pack names outside that list.

Response contract (strict)

Respond with ONLY a JSON object — the complete text of your reply, nothing before or after it:

{"pack": "", "confidence": <0.0-1.0>, "reasoning": ""}

  • pack — exactly one candidate pack name from the prompt's list.
  • confidence — honest confidence from 0.0 to 1.0. The caller discards results below its threshold and falls back to a static default, so a wrong confident answer is worse than an honest low one.
  • reasoning — optional, one short sentence.

The following are contract violations:

  • No markdown fences around the JSON.
  • No prose before or after the JSON.
  • Never ask questions — investigate with what you have and decide.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

model-matrix-classifier is an agent published in the GitHub repository unbound-force/gaze (4 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 28 tokens to every session and 482 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-03.
