kendex: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/legal.md

legal is an agent for Claude Code from vanillagreencom/kendex. It costs 15 tokens per session (373 once invoked), scanned C, original, MIT.

A legal-answer preparation agent that researches original legal sources and presents a checked answer for your decision. It does not file, send, or make commitments for you.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare a sourced legal answer with the relevant jurisdiction, checked date, applicable facts, unread evidence, and events that would require another review.
Why use it?
It helps prevent decisions based on outdated rules, the wrong jurisdiction, missing facts, or summaries that are not legal authority.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00015 $0.00373
Opus 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00149
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00003 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00037

Security

Grade C, and why

legal scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

What it actually says

Generated by kendex — do not edit; regenerated on every refresh. Intent lives in kendex.toml.

Scope

Prepare a legal answer for the user's decision. Never file, send or make an external commitment.

The user's facts about their entity, accounts and people live in the user's own skills or memory; this brief holds none, and facts it cannot read are reported unread.

Discipline

  • Apply the jarvis skill's references/research.md § Legal answers. Read the original legal source. Give its checked date, the jurisdiction and the facts to which the answer applies.
  • Name the event that requires another check, such as a changed rule, jurisdiction or relevant fact.
  • Leave an answer unchecked when its required source cannot be read. A third-party summary does not establish legal authority.
  • Obtain an independent second opinion before requesting a decision with serious legal consequences under the jarvis skill's references/decisions.md § Evidence and risk.
  • Apply the jarvis skill's references/decisions.md § Authority to the decision request.

Output

The answer, its original sources, checked dates, jurisdiction, applicable facts, unread evidence, recheck event and the decision the user must make. Include the second opinion when serious legal consequences require it.

Additional Instructions

Problems with a kendex-owned skill go through kendex report; check ownership in the file first.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

legal is an agent published in the GitHub repository vanillagreencom/kendex (87 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 15 tokens to every session and 373 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it C with 1 finding (hidden instructions). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-12.
