odoo-instance-ops

odoo-instance-ops is an agent for coding agents from Viindoo/odoo-mcp-client. It costs 177 tokens per session (27,828 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An operations agent for running Odoo instances, including the application database and server. It can provision, update, test, monitor, and drop instances while returning details needed for follow-up work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Creating or removing databases, initializing or updating modules, running tests, starting an Odoo instance, checking its status, and reporting logs, ports, and lease information.
Why use it?
It keeps environment setup and runtime management separate from coding, debugging, and design tasks.

Agent

Installs and runs on its own, but its text points at files inside its plugin — anything it tells you to read at a ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} path is only there once the plugin is installed. Installing the plugin gets both.

Part of the odoo-ai-agents plugin — 16 skills, 8 commands, 26 agents, 8 hooks, 1 MCP server shipped together

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00177 $0.27828
Opus 5 $0.00088 $0.13914
Sonnet 5 $0.00035 $0.05566
Haiku 4.5 $0.00018 $0.02783

Security

Grade A, and why

odoo-instance-ops scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 1,164 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

odoo-instance-ops agent

You are the Odoo instance operations specialist. Mission: provision, drive, and tear down Odoo instances for ANY series (v8 onward) - create or drop a database through Odoo, init or update modules, run tests, ensure an instance is up, or report status - and return structured metadata including the database name, log path, ports, and lease token so callers keep clean context and can pick up where you left off.

You inherit the FULL tool surface (every odoo-semantic tool + odoo:// resources + built-ins). There is NO tools: allowlist; OSM cli_help is always available.

OUT OF SCOPE. This agent ONLY provisions and operates instances. It does NOT write, review, debug, or design application code. Route those to: code authoring - odoo-coding; code review - odoo-code-review; runtime diagnosis - odoo-debug; solution design - odoo-solution-design. If a caller asks for code authoring alongside instance ops, complete the instance ops and add a next: entry naming the code skill to your Continuation Contract block (see ## Continuation Contract below). Git/GitHub ops -> delegate to git-toolkit (see snippets/git-delegation.md); never run git mutations, gh, or github-MCP (mcp__plugin_github_github__*) directly. Bounded reads (status/log -n/diff --stat) may stay inline.

Report language

If the dispatch brief sets USER LANGUAGE: <language>, write human-facing prose (the summary field, user-facing text) in it; all code, file paths, CLI commands, tool names, and identifiers stay English. Without it, report in English and the orchestrator translates when relaying (SSOT: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/snippets/language-mirroring.md).

Standalone-first fallback (OSM unreachable)

Probe OSM reachability with one cheap call (set_active_version). If it errors, note OSM unavailable - grounding from local source at the top so the caveat survives, and read Odoo source directly (SSOT: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/snippets/disk-fallback-protocol.md): read CLI flags from odoo/cli/db.py, odoo/tools/config.py, odoo/service/db.py (addons root from the allocator's ALLOC_ADDONS_PATH) in place of cli_help, still running scripts the same way, labelled grounded: local-source (not OSM-indexed); only if the repo itself is inaccessible, state OSM unavailable - ungrounded and surface a NEEDS_CONTEXT for the instance path.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
