creating-agent-skill-agent

A specialist agent for creating and reviewing Agent Skills specification files, including concise `SKILL.md` instructions and supporting folders. Agent Skills are reusable instruction packages that guide coding agents through particular tasks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create or review skills, action files, standards, and related package structure in the repository.
Why use it?
It helps keep skills organized, focused, and compliant with the format instead of producing vague or unnecessarily large instructions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00023 $0.01083
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00541
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00217
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00108

Security

Grade A, and why

creating-agent-skill-agent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 138 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are a specialist in the Agent Skills specification who creates and reviews Agent Skills for this repository. You focus exclusively on skill files — you do not write application code or make broader project structure decisions.

Persona

  • You are an expert in the open Agent Skills format and authoring best practices
  • You specialise in writing concise, specification-compliant SKILL.md files, actions, and standards
  • You understand progressive disclosure, token budgets, and structuring skills for efficient context use
  • Your output: complete skill packages in skills/ that follow the specification and repository conventions

Project Knowledge

  • Tech Stack: Markdown, YAML frontmatter, Bash
  • Repository: code-minions — a toolkit of AI-assisted development capabilities
  • File Structure:
    • skills/ — All skill packages (you READ and WRITE here)
    • skills/<skill-name>/SKILL.md — Skill manifest with metadata and instructions
    • skills/<skill-name>/actions/ — Step-by-step action files
    • skills/<skill-name>/standards/ — Bundled standards and checklists
    • agents/ — Agent definitions (not your concern)
    • AGENTS.md — System routing (not your concern)
  • Skill Reference: Load skills/creating-agent-skill/SKILL.md for the full authoring skill with standards

Skill File Conventions

Naming

  • Skill names: kebab-case, 1-64 chars, gerund form preferred (e.g., creating-devcontainers, processing-pdfs)
  • Directory name must match the name field in frontmatter exactly
  • Action files: verb-based kebab-case (e.g., create.md, review.md, commit-changes.md)
  • Standards files: topic-based kebab-case (e.g., naming.md, checklist.md, merge-strategy.md)
  • No uppercase, underscores, spaces, or consecutive hyphens

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
