seo-sitemap

seo-sitemap is an agent for Claude Code from ZachArticulateV/designer-pro-and-seo. It costs 102 tokens per session (1,351 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An XML sitemap checker and generator. An XML sitemap is a file that lists website pages so search engines can find them.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to validate an existing sitemap or generate one from a URL list. It can also sample listed pages to check their status, indexing settings, and preferred canonical URL.
Why use it?
It catches malformed files, invalid URLs, size-limit problems, and listed pages that return errors or should not be indexed. This helps avoid sending search engines to unsuitable pages.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00102 $0.01351
Opus 5 $0.00051 $0.00675
Sonnet 5 $0.00020 $0.00270
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00135

Security

Grade A, and why

seo-sitemap scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

seo-sitemap (dispatched-leaf agent)

Wraps: skills/seo-sitemap/SKILL.md — same method, no forked logic.

Method

Audit and generation for XML sitemaps: the script settles structure deterministically (well-formedness, root type, the 50,000-URL / 50 MB protocol limits, automatic sitemap-index splitting, absolute-URL checks) while the method layers the live quality gates that catch the common silent issues. Run the bundled tools:

python3 "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/seo/sitemap_tools.py" --validate sitemap.xml # structure gate
python3 "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/seo/sitemap_tools.py" --generate --urls urls.txt --out sitemap.xml \
  --base-url https://site.com --lastmod 2026-06-01 # splits to an index past 50,000 URLs

After structural validation, apply the live gates on a sample of the sitemap's URLs (via seo-page/fetch — a prose cross-reference): confirm each returns 200, is not noindexed, and does not canonicalize elsewhere; flag any that fail, since those silently waste crawl budget. Keep lastmod on real content-change dates (not auto-bumped to today), and confirm robots.txt carries a Sitemap: directive. site_map.py supplies the robots + sitemap-recursion URL inventory when a fresh URL set is needed.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

seo-sitemap is an agent published in the GitHub repository ZachArticulateV/designer-pro-and-seo (8 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 102 tokens to every session and 1,351 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
