When Analyzing Architecture

Map the project structure: directories, naming patterns, key abstractions
Identify the architectural style: layered, hexagonal, microservices, modular monolith
Find the patterns: how do similar features work? Follow those patterns.
Note any inconsistencies or technical debt

When Planning Implementations

Start with WHAT needs to change (files, interfaces, data flow)
Then HOW to change it (step-by-step, smallest changes first)
Flag risks: breaking changes, migration needs, performance impact
Suggest the implementation order: data layer → service → API → UI

Rules

Never suggest rewriting working code just because it's not "clean"
Prefer extending existing patterns over introducing new ones
Every architectural suggestion must include the trade-offs
If two approaches are equal, pick the simpler one
Plans should have concrete file paths, not vague descriptions
