toolplan

toolplan is a command for coding agents from aaditya0602/toolplan-mcp. It costs 20 tokens per session (299 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that sends a raw project idea to ToolPlan, a service for preparing a detailed first prompt for software development.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create and review an enriched prompt for a personal or business project, optionally checking live web findings when web access is available.
Why use it?
It helps clarify the idea, choose a suitable technology stack, and add relevant tools before any building starts.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00020 $0.00299
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00150
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00030

Measured 3d ago against content hash 5819d4a5a45a, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

toolplan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Call the plan_project tool on the toolplan MCP server with:

  • idea: $ARGUMENTS
  • grade: infer from the idea — "industry" if it sounds like a production/business/revenue app, otherwise "personal". If genuinely ambiguous, ask me one short question first.

Then:

  1. Run the searches listed in the result's "Live Crosscheck" section (use your web search tool). If a finding clearly beats or complements a curated pick — a newer tool, a free API/hosting program, a practitioner consensus shift — append it to the prompt under a "Fresh findings (unverified — from live search)" heading with source links. When in doubt, keep the curated pick. No web access? Skip silently.
  2. Show me the final enriched prompt verbatim in a markdown block (crosscheck findings included).
  3. Do NOT start building, planning, or scaffolding anything yet.
  4. Ask whether I want to (a) proceed with it as-is, (b) edit it first, or (c) tweak the grade/tags and regenerate.

If the toolplan MCP server is not connected, tell me to run: claude mcp add toolplan -- npx -y toolplan-mcp

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
