respond-reviewers

respond-reviewers is a command for Claude Code from Abhinavbwj/AEC-Scholar. It costs 14 tokens per session (408 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A service for writing a point-by-point reply to peer reviewers and planning the manuscript changes that follow. Peer reviewers are researchers who assess an academic paper before publication.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to number and classify reviewer comments, draft a response letter, locate changes in the manuscript, and create a checklist for revisions.
Why use it?
It helps ensure every reviewer comment is addressed with a clear response and a specific edit or justification. It also separates comments that need agreement, clarification, partial acceptance, or respectful disagreement.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00014 $0.00408
Opus 5 $0.00007 $0.00204
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00082
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00041

Security

Grade A, and why

respond-reviewers scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Help the user respond to peer review. Reviewer comments / context: $ARGUMENTS

Use the academic-writer agent (and methodologist/aec-domain-expert where a comment is technical).

  1. Parse the comments. Break each reviewer's review into individually numbered points (R1.1, R1.2, …). Don't miss any — editors check that every comment is addressed.

  2. Triage. For each point, classify the right response: agree & revise, agree in part, clarify a misunderstanding (politely, with evidence), or respectfully push back (only with sound justification).

  3. Draft the response letter. For each point, use the standard format:

    • Comment (quote the reviewer verbatim),
    • Response (courteous, specific: what you changed and why, or your reasoned justification),
    • Changes in manuscript (quote/locate the revised text, e.g. "added to §3.2, p.7"). Open with a brief, gracious thank-you paragraph to the editor and reviewers and a summary of major changes.
  4. Revision plan. Produce a checklist of the concrete manuscript edits implied by the responses, so the user can execute them (offer to draft the revised passages via /aec-scholar:paper-draft).

Tone: professional, appreciative, non-defensive — even when disagreeing. Address every point. Where a comment requires new analysis or data, say so honestly rather than hand-waving.

Integrity: don't claim changes you haven't actually made, and don't invent results to satisfy a reviewer. If a request can't be met, explain why transparently.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

respond-reviewers is a command published in the GitHub repository Abhinavbwj/AEC-Scholar (18 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 14 tokens to every session and 408 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings.
