tmux-off

tmux-off is a command for Claude Code from Aey-Sama/tmux-arsenal. It costs 15 tokens per session (262 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A command that turns a tmux automation setting on or off. The setting controls automatic tmux session handling and a guard that blocks plain Bash sudo commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to disable or re-enable the tmux session contract and sudo guard; the session setting applies at the next session start, while the sudo guard changes immediately.
Why use it?
It lets you temporarily stop those behaviours when they interfere with your workflow, while keeping the change easy to reverse.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00015 $0.00262
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00131
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00052
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00026

Security

Grade B, and why

tmux-off scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

description: Disable or re-enable tmux arsenal (auto-routing and the sudo guard)
commands/tmux-off.md · 32 lines

What it actually says

Toggle the tmux arsenal flag file at ${CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR:-$HOME/.claude}/.tmux-arsenal-off.

If $ARGUMENTS is on, re-enable by removing the flag:

rm -f "${CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR:-$HOME/.claude}/.tmux-arsenal-off" && echo "tmux arsenal ENABLED"

Otherwise disable by creating it:

touch "${CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR:-$HOME/.claude}/.tmux-arsenal-off" && echo "tmux arsenal DISABLED"

Both hooks check this flag and exit early when it exists, so disabling stops the session contract from being injected AND stops the sudo guard from blocking plain Bash sudo calls.

Tell the user the change takes effect for the session contract on the next session start, but applies to the sudo guard immediately. Warn them that with the guard off, a sudo command in plain Bash will hang with no answerable password prompt.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

tmux-off is a command published in the GitHub repository Aey-Sama/tmux-arsenal (1 stars, last pushed 18d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 15 tokens to every session and 262 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
