export

export is a command for coding agents from AI-Native-Systems/north-star-advisor. It costs 13 tokens per session (926 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An export command that collects generated documents and an AI context file into a shareable ZIP archive.

In plain words
What is it for?
Creating an export archive, choosing its output path, and including the documents that actually exist for the selected design and architecture options.
Why use it?
It separates finished material from working files, research caches, and internal progress data before sharing.

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00013 $0.00926
Opus 5 $0.00006 $0.00463
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00185
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00093

Measured 4d ago against content hash 6a2b0de278ec, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

export scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/northstar:export

Package generated strategic documents and AI context into a shareable zip file.

Usage

/northstar:export [--output <path>]
Option Description
--output <path> Custom output path (default: north-star-advisor-export.zip)

What Gets Included

Note: Document names come from templates/index.yml. Glob actual files from north-star-advisor/docs/.

north-star-advisor-export.zip
├── ai-context.yml # Strategic context for Claude Code
└── docs/
├── [core templates from index.yml where flag: null]
    ├── design/ # If --ux was used
│ └── [templates from index.yml where flag: ux]
    └── architecture/
└── [templates from index.yml where flag: deep or AGENT_PROMPTS]

Structure depends on which flags were enabled. Only include files that actually exist.

What Gets Excluded

  • .work-in-progress/ - Working state (not needed for sharing)
  • Research cache
  • Checkpoints
  • Internal state files

Workflow

Step 1: Check Prerequisites

  1. Check if north-star-advisor/ai-context.yml exists
  2. Check if north-star-advisor/docs/ exists and has content
  3. If missing:
    No generated documents found.
Run /northstar:advisor-build first to generate documents.

Step 2: Gather Files

  1. Read north-star-advisor/ai-context.yml
  2. Glob north-star-advisor/docs/**/*.md
  3. Build file manifest

Step 2.5: Resolve Output Path

  1. If --output <path> was provided, use that path
  2. Otherwise, default to north-star-advisor-export.zip
  3. Resolve to absolute path before any directory changes
  4. If parent directory doesn't exist, create it

Step 3: Create Zip

# OUTPUT_PATH = absolute path from Step 2.5
zip -r "${OUTPUT_PATH}" north-star-advisor/ai-context.yml north-star-advisor/docs/

Step 4: Display Summary and CLAUDE.md Instructions

Add this to your CLAUDE.md so Claude Code uses the strategic context:

│
│ The ai-context.yml contains:

│ - Architecture patterns and agent topology
│ - Security requirements and guardrails
│ - Roadmap phases and milestones
│
│ Always align implementation decisions with these strategic documents.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

export is a command published in the GitHub repository AI-Native-Systems/north-star-advisor (7 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 13 tokens to every session and 926 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
