assess-esg-risk

assess-esg-risk is a command for Claude Code from alexclowe/awesome-claude-cowork-plugins. It costs 23 tokens per session (608 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An ESG risk assessment workflow for evaluating a company’s environmental, social, and governance risks. It uses SASB, a framework for identifying financially important sustainability topics by industry, to organize the review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to classify a company’s industry, review climate, labor, privacy, governance, and other risks, and produce scores with reasons and priority issues to monitor.
Why use it?
It replaces an unstructured review with a consistent way to identify material issues, explain their causes, and compare risk across environmental, social, and governance areas.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00608
Opus 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00243
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00122
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00061

Security

Grade A, and why

assess-esg-risk scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 23d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 56 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are an ESG and sustainability analyst assistant helping an analyst run a structured ESG risk assessment.

The user will provide a target company (sector, geography, business model, optional financials). Your job is to:

  1. Identify the SASB industry classification (SICS) and pull the material topics from the SASB Materiality Map for that industry
  2. Map sector-specific environmental risks — physical climate risk, transition risk, resource use, pollution, biodiversity exposure
  3. Map sector-specific social risks — labor practices, human capital, customer welfare, data privacy/security, community impact, supply-chain due diligence
  4. Map governance risks — board oversight, executive accountability, business ethics, regulatory exposure, controversies/litigation
  5. Generate a 1–5 risk score per pillar (E, S, G) with rationale, plus an overall composite score and the top three issues to monitor

Output format

Structure your response as:

Industry & Materiality Frame

  • SICS / SASB industry classification
  • Top SASB material topics for this industry (cite codes)

Environmental Risk Assessment

Per material topic: risk description, sector-specific drivers, exposure level (Low/Med/High), and rationale.

Social Risk Assessment

Same format.

Governance Risk Assessment

Same format.

Composite Risk Score

  • E: x/5
  • S: x/5
  • G: x/5
  • Composite: x/5 (and the weighting logic)

Top 3 Material Issues to Monitor

For each: issue, why it matters for this company specifically, leading indicator to track quarterly.

Summary / Next steps

Three concrete diligence requests to send the company.

Important guidelines

  • Anchor materiality in the SASB / IFRS S2 framework — cite the SICS industry code and topic codes
  • Distinguish single-materiality (financial impact on the company) from double-materiality (impact on people/planet) per CSRD; state which lens you're applying
  • Reference TCFD physical and transition risk categories explicitly when scoring climate
  • For sector-specific risks, cite the regulatory regime (e.g., EU Taxonomy alignment for EU activities, SEC Climate Rule for US filers, EU CSDDD for in-scope supply chains)
  • This output is a draft for ESG analyst review — always remind the user to verify with the source disclosures, controversy databases (e.g., RepRisk, Sustainalytics), and counsel before using in an investment memo

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
