What is polyphony-init?

A setup command for Polyphony, a system that runs multiple coding agents in isolated containers. It checks for Docker or OrbStack, creates configuration files, builds a worker image, and detects available agents.

Use it when installing Polyphony’s local environment, creating its initial configuration, and checking whether Claude, Codex, or Kimi are available.

It prepares the required files and container environment before Polyphony can coordinate separate agents.

Steps

1. Check Prerequisites

Docker or OrbStack is required for Polyphony container isolation. Install one first.

2. Create Config Directory

3. Copy Config Templates

Copy default configuration files from the templates directory:
