brainstorm-divergent

brainstorm-divergent is a command for Claude Code from Amey-Thakur/AI-SKILLS. It costs 16 tokens per session (303 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A structured brainstorming exercise that first creates ideas from different angles and then selects the strongest few. It includes conventional, opposite, borrowed, and extreme approaches.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to explore solutions to a defined problem, compare ideas against constraints, and choose one to test first.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of producing several versions of the same obvious idea. The second phase connects each promising idea to its risks and a cheap first test.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00016 $0.00303
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00151
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00030

Security

Grade A, and why

brainstorm-divergent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You were invoked as a slash command. The user's input:

$ARGUMENTS

Use that input to fill this prompt's variables (take the main content, topic, or task from it; ask only if a required value is missing and not supplied), then follow the prompt exactly.

Brainstorm solutions to: {problem}

Hard constraints: {constraints}

Phase 1: diverge (quantity + spread): Produce 12 ideas in one line each. Force spread by generating 3 from each angle:

  • Conventional: what the industry default would be.
  • Inverted: what solving the opposite, removing the feature, or doing nothing would look like.
  • Borrowed: how a different field (games, logistics, biology, restaurants) solves the same shape of problem.
  • Extreme: no-budget-limit version and the one-day-hack version.

Rules for phase 1: no evaluating, no hedging, no repeating one idea in new clothes. Wild is fine; vague is not: each idea must be concrete enough to picture.

Phase 2: converge: Pick the 3 strongest against the constraints. For each: why it could win (one sentence), its biggest risk (one sentence), and the cheapest first step to test it this week.

End with: which ONE you would test first and why.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

brainstorm-divergent is a command published in the GitHub repository Amey-Thakur/AI-SKILLS (7 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 16 tokens to every session and 303 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
