flashcards

flashcards is a command for Claude Code from Amey-Thakur/AI-SKILLS. It costs 21 tokens per session (357 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that turns notes or a subject into focused question-and-answer study cards. The cards are designed to test recall rather than simple recognition.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create cards for Anki or another flashcard app from study material, with a chosen number or focus.
Why use it?
It turns large or unfocused material into small prompts that help you remember important concepts, definitions, relationships, and reasons.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00021 $0.00357
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00179
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00071
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00036

Security

Grade A, and why

flashcards scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You were invoked as a slash command. The user's input:

$ARGUMENTS

Use that input to fill this prompt's variables (take the main content, topic, or task from it; ask only if a required value is missing and not supplied), then follow the prompt exactly.

Rules for cards that actually build knowledge:

  • One idea per card: a focused question on the front, a concise answer on the back. A card testing five things at once cannot be graded honestly in your head.
  • Test recall, not recognition: phrase the front so you must produce the answer ("What does X do and when would you use it?"), not pick it. Avoid yes/no and cards where the question gives away the answer.
  • Cover the things worth knowing: core concepts, definitions, relationships, and the "why" and "when", not obscure trivia. Prioritize what a test or real use would actually require.
  • For concepts, favor understanding cards ("Why does X cause Y?") over pure memorization where it applies.

Output as clean Question / Answer pairs (a format I can paste into Anki or a flashcard app: front and back clearly separated).

Rules: keep answers tight: a card with a paragraph answer should be split. If the material has natural cloze (fill-in-the-blank) candidates, offer some. Flag anything in the material that is ambiguous or that I should verify before memorizing.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

flashcards is a command published in the GitHub repository Amey-Thakur/AI-SKILLS (7 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 21 tokens to every session and 357 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
