q-handoff

q-handoff is a command for coding agents from assafkip/huntkit. It costs 0 tokens per session (184 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that creates a handoff note for continuing an investigation in a later Claude Code session. The note records what happened, unfinished work, decisions, changed files, blocked items, and the next action.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when stopping, nearing a context limit, or finishing a checkpoint so the next session can resume from a clear summary.
Why use it?
It preserves the investigation’s working context when a session ends or is interrupted. This reduces the need to reconstruct previous work from memory or scattered files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.00184
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00092
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00037
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00018

Measured 3d ago against content hash 224455578976, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

q-handoff scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Generate a session handoff note for continuity across Claude Code sessions.

Save to the active case's memory/last-handoff.md.

Handoff Contents

  1. Session summary: 2-3 sentences on what happened
  2. In-progress work: Anything started but not finished (with file paths)
  3. Decisions made: Key analytical judgments or approach changes
  4. Files modified: List of all investigation files changed this session
  5. Blocked items: What we're waiting on (client response, API keys, etc.)
  6. Suggested next action: The single most impactful thing to do next session, with Energy tag + Time Est

Triggers

Run this when:

  • The founder says "done", "stopping", "wrapping up"
  • Context is running low
  • After /q-end or /q-checkpoint
  • Before context compaction
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
