Asynkron.JsEngine: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/test-bomb.md

test-bomb is a command for Claude Code from asynkron/Asynkron.JsEngine. It costs 10 tokens per session (497 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A test-generation command that creates a set of focused tests, with one test for each suspected cause of a bug. Each test records whether its particular hypothesis passes or fails.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create hypothesis-based tests in the specified test project, with named cases, comments, logging, and time limits.
Why use it?
It replaces guesswork with a systematic way to narrow down which part of a bug is failing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00010 $0.00497
Opus 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00199
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00002 $0.00099
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00050

Measured 14d ago against content hash f12d50d1cc0f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

test-bomb scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 14d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Generate a test bomb class to systematically eliminate suspected causes for a bug.

For full methodology, see agents/how-to-test-bombs.md.

What is a Test Bomb?

A set of targeted tests where each test targets ONE hypothesis about what's causing a bug. The pass/fail pattern reveals the failing area.

Instructions

Given $ARGUMENTS, create a test class in tests/Asynkron.JsEngine.Tests/ with:

  1. One [Fact] test per hypothesis
  2. Each test named H1_FirstHypothesis, H2_SecondHypothesis, etc.
  3. Doc comments explaining each hypothesis
  4. 10-second timeout on each test
  5. ITestOutputHelper for logging results

Template

/// TEST BOMB: Systematic elimination of suspected causes for [BUG].
public class [BugName]TestBomb
{
    private readonly ITestOutputHelper _output;
    public [BugName]TestBomb(ITestOutputHelper output) => _output = output;

    /// H1: [description of first hypothesis]
    [Fact(Timeout = 10000)]
    public async Task H1_FirstHypothesis()
    {
        await using var engine = new JsEngine();
        var result = await engine.Evaluate("/* test code */");
        _output.WriteLine($"H1 Result: {result}");
        Assert.Equal("expected", result?.ToString());
    }

    /// H2: [description of second hypothesis]
    [Fact(Timeout = 10000)]
    public async Task H2_SecondHypothesis()
    {
        // ...
    }
}

Example

/test-bomb ClosureBug "closure not capturing outer var" "let vs var difference" "block scope issue"

Creates ClosureBugTestBomb.cs with H1, H2, H3 tests.

After Creation

Run the tests:

dotnet test tests/Asynkron.JsEngine.Tests --filter "FullyQualifiedName~TestBomb"

The pattern of passes/fails reveals which hypothesis is correct.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

test-bomb is a command published in the GitHub repository asynkron/Asynkron.JsEngine (11 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 10 tokens to every session and 497 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
