flow

flow is a command for coding agents from bhanu91221/sfdx-iq. It costs 11 tokens per session (1,921 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command for designing, checking, changing, or explaining Salesforce Flows. Salesforce Flows are visual automations that carry out business processes when records change, users interact with screens, or schedules and events occur.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create Flow blueprints, review them for issues, refine them, or describe their steps.
Why use it?
It helps turn business requirements into a Flow and makes existing automations easier to inspect and improve.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00011 $0.01921
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00960
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00384
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00192

Measured 4d ago against content hash 08a2866d6e31, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

flow scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/flow

Work with Salesforce Flows using --new, --review, --refine, or --explain.

Usage

/flow --new Design a new Flow blueprint from requirements
/flow --review Review an existing Flow for best practices and issues
/flow --refine Modify an existing Flow
/flow --explain Explain what a Flow does step by step

--new: Design a New Flow

Gather Requirements

Ask the user:

  1. What should the Flow do? (business process description)
  2. What type? (Record-Triggered, Screen Flow, Schedule-Triggered, Platform Event-Triggered, Autolaunched)
  3. Which object and trigger event? (for Record-Triggered: before/after save, before delete)
  4. What records does it access or update?
  5. Are there decision branches or conditions?
  6. Does it need to call Apex actions or send emails?

Flow Type Selection

Type Use When
Record-Triggered (Before Save) Update fields on the same record — no DML cost, runs synchronously
Record-Triggered (After Save) Related record operations, callouts (via async), email alerts
Screen Flow Guided user interactions, multi-step wizards
Schedule-Triggered Batch operations on a schedule (small to medium datasets)
Platform Event-Triggered React to events published to the event bus
Autolaunched Called from Apex, other flows, or external (no user interaction)

Flow Design Blueprint

Generate a text-based design document:

## Flow: [Name]
**Type:** Record-Triggered — After Save
**Object:** Account
**Trigger:** Created or Updated

### Entry Criteria
- Run when: Record is created OR Account.Industry changes

### Flow Elements (in execution order)
1. **Decision: Industry Changed?**
   - Outcome YES: {!$Record.Industry} != {!$Record__Prior.Industry}
   - Default: End

2. **Get Records: Active Contacts**
   - Object: Contact
   - Filter: AccountId = {!$Record.Id}, IsActive__c = true
   - Store: contactsCollection (All records)

3. **Loop: For each contact**
   - Collection: contactsCollection
   - Variable: currentContact

   3a. **Update Records: Set Industry**
       - Record: currentContact
       - Field: Industry__c = {!$Record.Industry}

4. **Fault Path: Handle Errors**
   - Create Log_Error__c record with error message

### Variables
| Name | Type | Input/Output | Purpose |
|------|------|--------------|---------|
| contactsCollection | SObject Collection | — | Contacts to update |
| currentContact | SObject | — | Loop variable |

### Governor Limit Considerations
- DML inside loop — CRITICAL issue. Use Collection Update instead of updating inside loop.
Fix: Collect updates into a collection, then use one Update Records element outside the loop.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

flow is a command published in the GitHub repository bhanu91221/sfdx-iq (2 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 11 tokens to every session and 1,921 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
