review

A command that reviews the changes in your current Git branch and returns organized findings. A Git branch is a separate line of work in a repository, and a diff shows how it differs from another branch or commit.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compare changes with main, staging, or an earlier commit, review only staged files, and inspect the current branch before a pull request.
Why use it?
It provides a first review of code changes before you open a pull request, helping you catch issues without manually assembling the comparison.

Made for: Claude Code.

Per session 16 Only the description is in the session, so the agent can decide to use it. The body loads when it is invoked.
When invoked 695 The whole file, excluding the scripts and references it only reads on demand.
Security scan A 0 findings. Scan, not verified.
Origin original No closer match found in the catalogue.
Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00016 $0.00695
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00347
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00069

Measured 2d ago against content hash 97b00281a3b6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/review — Code Review on Current Changes

Invokes the code-reviewer agent on the uncommitted and/or branched changes in the current working tree. Use this as a first-pass quality gate before you open a PR.

Arguments

  • $ARGUMENTS (optional) — diff target. Defaults to main. Examples:
    • /review → diff against main
    • /review staging → diff against staging
    • /review HEAD~3 → diff against three commits back
    • /review --staged → only staged changes

Preflight

  1. Read .rea/policy.yaml — confirm autonomy is at least L1 (review is read-only, so L0 also permitted)
  2. Check .rea/HALT — if present, stop and report FROZEN
  3. Verify you are inside a git repo: git rev-parse --show-toplevel

Step 1 — Gather the diff

Resolve the diff target:

  • If $ARGUMENTS is empty → use main
  • If $ARGUMENTS starts with --staged → use git diff --staged
  • Otherwise → use git diff $ARGUMENTS...HEAD

Run in parallel:

git diff <target>...HEAD
git log <target>..HEAD --oneline
git status --short

If the diff is empty, stop and report: "No changes to review against <target>."

Step 2 — Delegate to code-reviewer

Invoke the code-reviewer agent with:

  • Tier: standard (default). For diffs over 500 lines or cross-module changes, escalate to senior.
  • Context: the full diff, the commit log, and the current branch name
  • Project config: pass paths to package.json, tsconfig.json, and .rea/policy.yaml so the reviewer can adapt to the project's standards

Prompt shape for the delegation:

Review the following git diff at tier <standard|senior>. Produce structured findings: each finding has file, line, severity (high/medium/low), issue, and suggestion_code when applicable. Output JSON array. Empty array if no findings. Diff follows.

Step 3 — Summarize

Print a clean summary:

/review — <branch> vs <target>
Files changed: <N>
Findings: <total> (<high> high, <medium> medium, <low> low)

<grouped findings by severity, most severe first>

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

review is a command published in the GitHub repository bookedsolidtech/helixir (5 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 16 tokens to every session and 695 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
