claude-sdk-rs: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/seams.md

seams is a command for Claude Code from bredmond1019/claude-sdk-rs. It costs 0 tokens per session (2,231 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A planning command that maps where proposed work connects to an existing system and what could break if those connections are wrong. It reads an earlier assessment and writes a connection map.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to identify integration points and risks before ordering work into blocks.
Why use it?
It fills the gap between understanding the current situation and deciding what to build, reducing the risk of an unworkable plan.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.02231
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00892
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00446
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00223

Measured 11d ago against content hash e9c16e36e4ee, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

seams scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Seams — Map where new work attaches to the existing system.

Stage 2 of the pre-plan pipeline: /assess → /seams → /sequence → /plan. Method: docs/how-to-plan-with-agents.md in the brain repo.

Variables

$ARGUMENTS — the assessment slug, plus optional flags. Example: orchestration-extensions

Flag What it does
--spike <n> Run up to n spikes instead of the default 1. --spike 0 disables
--from <path> Read an assessment that is not at planning/<slug>/assessment.md

Purpose

The assessment says what is true. Sequencing says what to build. This stage answers the question in between: where does the new work attach to the old, and what breaks if that attachment is wrong. It is the stage most often skipped and the one whose absence most reliably produces a plan that is coherent on paper and unbuildable in practice.

Output: planning/<slug>/seams.md.

It produces no blocks, no waves, no estimates. Those are /sequence.

Instructions

  1. Resolve the slug. Read planning/<slug>/assessment.md, verification.md if present, and CLAUDE.md. Where assessment and verification disagree, verification wins. If no assessment exists, stop and point at /assess.

  2. Classify every capability the work depends on into exactly one of three states. This is the core of the command; do not soften the categories.

    State Definition The planning consequence
Built Exists, is called in production, and has been observed working Call it. Do not rebuild it
Half-built Exists in source but has no production caller, is behind a disabled flag, is untested, or was never actually run This is where plans die. Each one is either a small wiring block or a large rewrite, and you cannot tell which without looking
Absent Does not exist Honest new work

For half-built, additionally record: what specifically is missing (a caller, a flag, a config value, a schema agreement), and how you know — with file + symbol. "Shipped and unused" and "shipped and broken" are different blocks; say which.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
