claude-sdk-rs: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/sync-brain-skills.md

sync-brain-skills is a command for Claude Code from bredmond1019/claude-sdk-rs. It costs 0 tokens per session (520 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A command that reads a brain.toml project configuration file, finds its sub-brain folders, and copies shared session and planning skills into each one.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to distribute generic agent skills across all configured sub-brain tiers from the project root.
Why use it?
It removes the need to copy the same skills into every tier by hand while keeping brain-specific commands separate.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00520
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00208
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00104
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

sync-brain-skills scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

sync-brain-skills — Distribute shared skills to all sub-brain tiers

Reads brain.toml to discover all sub-brain tier directories, then rsyncs the shared skills into each tier's .agents/skills/. Mirrors .claude/commands/sync-brain-commands.md's job for the brain's own commands, but this one runs from base-template/ and distributes base-template's own generic session/planning skills — not any brain-specific command.

Instructions

Step 1 — Guards

  1. Verify brain.toml exists in the current working directory. If not, abort:
ERROR: brain.toml not found. Run sync-brain-skills from the brain root (agentic-portfolio/).

Step 2 — Discover tiers

  1. Read brain.toml. Extract unique tier values from all [[repos]] entries, excluding _root. These are the sub-brain tier directories to sync into.

Step 3 — Sync

  1. For each discovered tier, sync the shared skills from base-template/.agents/skills/ into <tier>/.agents/skills/. The include list is base-template's own generic session + planning skills only — not the brain's own log-decision/sync-status/update-progress (those are brain-specific commands that don't exist in base-template/.agents/skills/ at all; an earlier version of this list copied them in by mistake and they silently matched nothing).

    rsync -av --delete \
      --include="archive/***"\
      --include="capture/***"\
      --include="commit/***"\
      --include="handoff/***"\
      --include="log-work/***"\
      --include="prime/***"\
      --include="session-recap/***"\
      --include="wrap-up/***"\
      --include="backlog-ticket/***"\
      --include="generate-master-plan/***"\
      --include="next/***"\
      --exclude="*" \
      base-template/.agents/skills/ <tier>/.agents/skills/

Step 4 — Report

  1. For each tier, output:

    • Number of files synced / already up-to-date
    • Any errors or missing directories
  2. Summarize: N tiers updated, total files synced.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
