JumpStart-AutoNav: Command for GitHub Copilot

.github/prompts/jumpstart-status.prompt.md

jumpstart-status is a command for GitHub Copilot from CGSOG-JumpStarts/JumpStart-AutoNav. It costs 9 tokens per session (355 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A status command for the Jump Start workflow, a staged process for planning and building software. It checks project type, specification files, approval fields, and implementation task progress, then recommends the next action.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to see which phase is complete, count completed implementation tasks, and choose the next agent or command to run.
Why use it?
It removes the need to inspect each workflow file and checkbox manually. It also points brownfield projects—projects that extend existing software—to the required initial codebase review.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00009 $0.00355
Opus 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00142
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00002 $0.00071
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00036

Security

Grade A, and why

jumpstart-status scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Jump Start Status Check

Read .jumpstart/config.yaml and check which spec files exist and their approval status. Report the results in this format:

First, check project.type in config. Display it as Project Type: greenfield or Project Type: brownfield.

If brownfield, check the Scout phase first:

  • specs/codebase-context.md (Pre-Phase: Scout)
  • Whether its Phase Gate Approval section has all checkboxes checked

For each phase (0 through 4):

  • Whether the artifact file exists in specs/
  • Whether its Phase Gate Approval section has all checkboxes checked
  • Whether the "Approved by" field is populated (not "Pending")

If Phase 4 is in progress, also read specs/implementation-plan.md and count how many tasks are marked [COMPLETE] vs total tasks.

End with a recommendation for what the human should do next (which agent to select, which command to run). For brownfield projects without an approved specs/codebase-context.md, recommend starting with the Scout agent.

Check these files:

  • specs/codebase-context.md (Pre-Phase: Scout, brownfield only)
  • specs/challenger-brief.md (Phase 0)
  • specs/product-brief.md (Phase 1)
  • specs/prd.md (Phase 2)
  • specs/architecture.md (Phase 3)
  • specs/implementation-plan.md (Phase 3/4)
  • specs/decisions/ (count ADR files)
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

jumpstart-status is a command published in the GitHub repository CGSOG-JumpStarts/JumpStart-AutoNav (10 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 9 tokens to every session and 355 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-23.
