contextweaver: Command for GitHub Copilot

.github/prompts/fix-bug.prompt.md

fix-bug is a command for GitHub Copilot from dgenio/contextweaver. It costs 13 tokens per session (443 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guided bug-fixing workflow for the Contextweaver project. It requires a failing test first, then traces the defect and applies a small fix.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for reproducing bugs in Python tests, finding their root-cause module, and making a focused correction.
Why use it?
It prevents fixes from being made without a reproducible example and helps avoid breaking the project's documented rules.

Command for GitHub Copilot

Written for GitHub Copilot: a Copilot chat mode or prompt. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md.

This is dgenio/contextweaver's own configuration. It tells GitHub Copilot how to work on contextweaver itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything contextweaver configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00013 $0.00443
Opus 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00177
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00003 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

fix-bug scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Fix a Bug

Follow these steps in order. Each step has a clear success criterion.

Steps

  1. Write a failing test that reproduces the bug. Add the test to tests/test_<module>.py before touching production code. Success: make test fails only on the new test.

  2. Identify the root-cause module. Use AGENTS.md's module map and docs/agent-context/architecture.md to trace the defect to its origin. Check docs/agent-context/invariants.md to confirm the fix won't violate a hard constraint. Success: root-cause file and line range are known.

  3. Apply the minimal fix. Change only the lines required to resolve the defect. Do not refactor unrelated code in the same commit. If touching context/sensitivity.py, apply extra scrutiny per .github/instructions/sensitivity.instructions.md. Success: fix is self-contained.

  4. Verify the previously-failing test now passes.

    make test

Success: the new test passes; no previously-passing test regresses.

  5. Update CHANGELOG.md. Add a concise entry under ## [Unreleased]. Success: entry is present.

  6. Run make ci and verify all checks pass.

    make ci

Success: all targets (fmt lint type test example demo) exit 0.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
