aiagent: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/add-provider.md

add-provider is a command for Claude Code from drujensen/aiagent. It costs 25 tokens per session (346 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that scaffolds a new AI provider integration for the aiagent project. An AI provider integration connects the application to a provider's model service and registers its settings and authentication details.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create the provider integration, register it in the factory, add default configuration and an environment variable, and run the project's Go checks.
Why use it?
It removes repetitive setup when adding a provider and helps keep the new integration consistent with existing provider code and defaults.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00025 $0.00346
Opus 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00138
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00069
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

add-provider scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Add a new AI provider integration to aiagent.

Provider details: $ARGUMENTS

Steps

  1. Read internal/impl/integrations/aimodel_factory.go to understand how providers are registered
  2. Read an existing provider (e.g., internal/impl/integrations/xai.go) to understand the pattern
  3. Read internal/impl/integrations/generic.go for the base AIModelIntegration struct
  4. Create internal/impl/integrations/<provider>.go:
    • Embed or extend AIModelIntegration
    • Override only what differs from OpenAI-compatible behavior
    • Handle provider-specific auth headers, request/response formats
  5. Register the new type in internal/impl/integrations/aimodel_factory.go
  6. Add provider defaults to internal/impl/defaults/defaults.go:
    • Use a stable UUID for the ID
    • Set Type, BaseURL, APIKeyName
  7. Update .env.example with the new API key variable
  8. Run QA: go fmt ./... && go vet ./... && go build . && go test ./...

Provider Struct Pattern

type <Provider>Integration struct {
    *AIModelIntegration
}

func New<Provider>Integration(model *entities.Model) *<Provider>Integration {
    base := NewAIModelIntegration(model)
    // customize base if needed
    return &<Provider>Integration{AIModelIntegration: base}
}
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
