mollify-security

mollify-security is a command for Cursor from FavioVazquez/mollify. It costs 0 tokens per session (261 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that scans a repository with Mollify for possible security problems and groups the results by issue type and confidence. Mollify supplies evidence for review rather than deciding whether an issue is definitely exploitable.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find candidates such as SQL injection, unsafe evaluation, hardcoded secrets, weak cryptography, disabled TLS checks, and missing request timeouts, then plan remediation after verification.
Why use it?
It gives security findings a stable reference, explanation, and confidence level, making them easier to verify and prioritise. The command is read-only and does not fix files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.00261
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00130
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00052
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00026

Measured 4d ago against content hash 178ed7a697b6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mollify-security scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Scan this repository for security candidates with Mollify and summarize the findings. Mollify emits evidence (stable fingerprint, confidence tier, reason), not decisions. You are the verifier.

Steps:

  1. Run mollify security --format json (or call the mollify MCP mollify_security tool). Add --path <dir> if a subproject was specified.
  2. Group findings by rule (dangerous-eval, subprocess-shell-true, sql-injection, unsafe-yaml-load, unsafe-deserialization, tls-verify-disabled, hardcoded-secret, weak-hash, weak-cipher, insecure-random, request-without-timeout, flask-debug-true, jinja2-autoescape-false, try-except-pass) and by confidence, with counts.
  3. List each finding with its file:line, its reason, and the fingerprint.
  4. Do NOT modify files. Present a remediation plan ordered by severity and ask for approval first.

Notes:

  • These are candidates, not confirmed vulnerabilities — verify each in context.
  • Act automatically only on confidence: certain; surface likely / uncertain and let the user decide.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

mollify-security is a command published in the GitHub repository FavioVazquez/mollify (6 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 261 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
