uzomuzo-oss: Command for GitHub Copilot

.github/prompts/diet-trial.prompt.md

diet-trial is a command for GitHub Copilot from future-architect/uzomuzo-oss. It costs 22 tokens per session (5,647 once invoked), scanned C, original, Apache-2.0.

A trial command for analyzing an open-source GitHub project with `uzomuzo-diet`. It uses software-bill-of-materials tools, which list a project's components and dependencies, and can examine how source code relates to those components.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it with a GitHub repository to run an analysis with Trivy or Syft, compare both tools, optionally skip source analysis, and save or omit the resulting report.
Why use it?
It provides a repeatable way to test the tool on a real external project, find detection bugs, and collect evidence for a case study.

Command for GitHub Copilot

Written for GitHub Copilot: a Copilot chat mode or prompt.

This is future-architect/uzomuzo-oss's own configuration. It tells GitHub Copilot how to work on uzomuzo-oss itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything uzomuzo-oss configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is CGO_ENABLED=1 go build -o ~/bin/uzomuzo-diet ./cmd/uzomuzo-diet.

Reuse

Borrowing it

Nothing to install: this file belongs to future-architect/uzomuzo-oss. Take a copy, put it at the same path in your own repository, and replace the rules that are about this project with yours.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00022 $0.05647
Opus 5.5 $0.00009 $0.02259
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.01129
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00565

Security

Grade C, and why

diet-trial scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

/diet-trial — OSS Diet Analysis Trial

You are running a diet analysis trial on an external OSS project to test uzomuzo diet's accuracy, find bugs, and gather case study data for conference materials.

Arguments

Parse the user's arguments:

  • <org/repo> (required): GitHub repository in org/repo format (e.g., grafana/grafana)
  • --tool <trivy|syft> (optional, default: trivy): SBOM generation tool
  • --compare (optional): Run with both trivy and syft, compare results
  • --no-source (optional): Skip source coupling analysis (Phase 2). Faster but less accurate.
  • --no-save (optional): Do not save report to case-studies/
  • --save-to <path> (optional): Override default save location

If the user provides a full GitHub URL (https://github.com/org/repo), extract org/repo from it.

Prerequisites Check

Before starting, verify the required tools are available:

# Check uzomuzo-diet binary
which uzomuzo-diet 2>/dev/null || echo "MISSING: uzomuzo-diet"

# Check SBOM tool
which trivy 2>/dev/null || echo "MISSING: trivy"
which syft 2>/dev/null || echo "MISSING: syft"

If uzomuzo-diet is missing, build it:

CGO_ENABLED=1 go build -o ~/bin/uzomuzo-diet ./cmd/uzomuzo-diet
export PATH="$HOME/bin:$PATH"

If the selected SBOM tool is missing, install it:

  • trivy: curl -sfL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/aquasecurity/trivy/main/contrib/install.sh | sh -s -- -b ~/bin
  • syft: curl -sSfL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/anchore/syft/main/install.sh | sh -s -- -b ~/bin

Execution Pipeline

Step 1: Clone

git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/<org>/<repo>.git /tmp/diet-trial-<repo>

If the clone already exists, skip. If clone fails (private repo, not found), report the error and stop.

Step 2: Generate SBOM

Trivy (default):

trivy fs /tmp/diet-trial-<repo> --format cyclonedx -o /tmp/diet-trial-<repo>-trivy-sbom.json 2>/tmp/diet-trial-<repo>-trivy-sbom.log

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

diet-trial is a command published in the GitHub repository future-architect/uzomuzo-oss (42 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 22 tokens to every session and 5,647 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it C with 2 findings (downloads and executes remote code, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-07.
