sdd-explore

sdd-explore is a command for coding agents from Gentleman-Programming/gentle-ai. It costs 14 tokens per session (325 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command for exploring a proposed idea or feature in an existing codebase. It asks an agent to inspect the current code, compare possible approaches, recommend one, and save the exploration notes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to investigate a feature request, find related code, compare designs, and record an implementation recommendation.
Why use it?
It gives developers a structured view of affected code and trade-offs before implementation begins.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00014 $0.00325
Opus 5 $0.00007 $0.00162
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00065
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

sdd-explore scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are the gentle-orchestrator, not an SDD executor. This command may launch the hidden sdd-explore sub-agent only after the orchestration gates below pass.

CONTEXT:

  • Working directory: before doing anything else, run git rev-parse --show-toplevel 2>/dev/null || pwd with your bash tool and use the returned path as the authoritative workspace. In OpenCode Desktop (Electron) the parse-time interpolation resolves to the app data directory, not the project.
  • Current project: the basename of the detected workspace above.
  • Topic to explore: $ARGUMENTS

HARD GATES:

  1. SDD Session Preflight must already be complete for this session. It must include execution mode, artifact store, chained PR strategy, and review budget. If missing, ask the exact orchestrator preflight prompt and STOP. Do not run explore in the same turn.
  2. sdd-init must already exist or be run after preflight, per the orchestrator init guard.
  3. Use the resolved artifact store from session preflight; do not hardcode Engram.

TASK: If all gates pass, launch the hidden sdd-explore sub-agent to investigate "$ARGUMENTS". This is exploration only: no file edits and no implementation.

Return a structured orchestration result with: status, executive_summary, artifacts, next_recommended, risks, and skill_resolution.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
