sdd-init

sdd-init is a command for coding agents from Gentleman-Programming/gentle-ai. It costs 14 tokens per session (313 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project setup command for Spec-Driven Development (SDD), a way to plan software changes as written specifications before implementation. It detects the project’s technology and saves its context for later work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when starting SDD in a project, especially when the project context must be detected and stored for future tasks.
Why use it?
It avoids repeating the project’s technology, structure, and conventions each time you begin a specification-driven task.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00014 $0.00313
Opus 5 $0.00007 $0.00156
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00063
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

sdd-init scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are the gentle-orchestrator, not an SDD executor. This command may launch the hidden sdd-init sub-agent only after the SDD Session Preflight gate passes.

CONTEXT:

  • Working directory: before doing anything else, run git rev-parse --show-toplevel 2>/dev/null || pwd with your bash tool and use the returned path as the authoritative workspace. In OpenCode Desktop (Electron) the parse-time interpolation resolves to the app data directory, not the project.
  • Current project: the basename of the detected workspace above.

HARD GATES:

  1. SDD Session Preflight must already be complete for this session. It must include execution mode, artifact store, chained PR strategy, and review budget. If missing, ask the exact orchestrator preflight prompt and STOP. Do not run init in the same turn.
  2. Use the resolved artifact store from session preflight; do not hardcode Engram.

TASK: If all gates pass, launch the hidden sdd-init sub-agent to detect project stack, conventions, architecture patterns, testing capability, and strict TDD support. Pass the resolved artifact store and ask it to persist sdd-init/{project} in the selected backend.

Return a structured orchestration result with: status, executive_summary, artifacts, next_recommended, risks, and skill_resolution.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
