What is gitopia-contribute?

A guided workflow for contributing code to a Gitopia repository, a Git-based code-hosting project. It covers cloning the project, creating a branch, changing and testing code, and opening a pull request.

It helps developers find an issue, create a feature branch, apply and test a fix, push the changes, and open a linked pull request.

It puts the normal contribution steps in order and keeps the relevant issue connected to the submitted change.

Guided workflow to contribute code to a Gitopia repository.

Steps

Clone the repository using git_clone with the target repo URL
Create a feature branch using create_feature_branch with a descriptive branch name
Make changes — read files with read_file, write fixes with write_file
Run tests locally to verify the fix
Commit and push using commit_and_push_changes with a clear commit message
Open a pull request using create_pull_request linking to the relevant issue
