.claude/commands/coroot-smoke.md

coroot-smoke is a command for Claude Code from jamesbrink/mcp-coroot. It costs 0 tokens per session (346 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A read-only health check for a configured Coroot instance, including its projects, applications, nodes, alerts, traces, metrics, deployments, costs, and integrations.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for testing access, checking monitoring components such as ClickHouse, and producing a broad status report from the first available project.
Why use it?
It checks whether the monitoring connection and its supporting services work before relying on their results. It does not change Coroot.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00346
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00138
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00069
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

coroot-smoke scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Smoke test the Coroot MCP server

Exercise the read-only tools against the configured Coroot instance and report what works. Nothing here modifies Coroot.

  1. Call health_check. If it fails, stop and report the connection settings it returned.
  2. Call whoami and note the role, since it decides which tools can succeed.
  3. Call list_projects. Use the first project for everything below.
  4. Call get_project_status. Note whether the metrics source, node agent and ClickHouse are healthy: logs and traces need ClickHouse.
  5. Call list_applications. Note the status distribution and pick one application, preferring one at warning or critical.
  6. For that application call get_application, then get_log_patterns.
  7. Call list_nodes, and get_node for the first one.
  8. Call list_incidents and list_alerts. If either returns something, open the first with get_incident or get_alert.
  9. Call get_traces. If it reports no ClickHouse, note that and move on.
  10. Call list_metrics with match up.*, then get_metrics with query up.
  11. Call list_deployments, list_risks and get_costs.
  12. Call list_integrations, list_inspections and list_dashboards.

Report a table of tool, outcome and one line of detail. For failures, give the error message verbatim. Finish with whether the server looks healthy, and call out anything that failed for a reason other than missing data.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
