translate

translate is a command for Claude Code from jesus-seijas-sp/claude-node-setup. It costs 0 tokens per session (336 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A file-translation command that converts human-readable text to a chosen language and saves a new copy with the language code in its filename.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create translated copies of Markdown, text, or HTML files, such as README.es.md or guide.fr.txt.
Why use it?
It avoids translating files manually and keeps the original unchanged. Formatting, code blocks, and markup stay in place.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00336
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00168
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00067
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00034

Measured 6d ago against content hash 6ed0ad2c3e3a, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

translate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Translate the content of a file to a target language and save it with the locale in the filename.

Arguments

$ARGUMENTS must contain two values separated by |:

<filename> | <target language>

Example:

README.md | Spanish

Steps

  1. Parse $ARGUMENTS by splitting on | to extract:

    • filename — first segment (trimmed)
    • targetLanguage — second segment (trimmed)
  2. If either value is missing or empty, stop and ask the user to provide both before proceeding.

  3. Resolve the locale code for targetLanguage (e.g. Spanish → es, French → fr, Portuguese → pt, German → de, Italian → it, Japanese → ja, Chinese → zh, etc.).

  4. Derive the output filename by inserting .<locale> before the last extension:

    • README.mdREADME.es.md
    • docs/guide.txtdocs/guide.es.txt
    • index.htmlindex.es.html
  5. Read the content of filename.

  6. Translate the full content to targetLanguage. Preserve all formatting, markup, code blocks, and structure — only translate human-readable text.

  7. Write the translated content to the output filename.

  8. Confirm by reporting the output filename.

Rules

  • Never modify the source file.
  • Preserve all code blocks, commands, URLs, and technical identifiers untranslated.
  • If the source file does not exist, report the error and stop.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
