ADO: Triage Work Items

ADO: Triage Work Items is a command for GitHub Copilot from jnPiyush/AgentX. It costs 28 tokens per session (160 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An Azure DevOps backlog-triage command that reviews work items needing basic information, such as priority or team area. It also looks for likely duplicates and items that have not changed recently.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to classify new Azure DevOps items, identify duplicate or stale work, and produce a reviewable triage report.
Why use it?
It reduces the manual work of sorting an unorganised backlog and spotting items that may be duplicates or no longer useful. It prepares a report for approval before changing anything.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00028 $0.00160
Opus 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00064
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00032
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00016

Security

Grade A, and why

ADO: Triage Work Items scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run the backlog triage workflow for the current ADO project.

Follow the Triage workflow in #file:.github/instructions/ado/ado-backlog-triage.instructions.md.

  1. Query all items in New state with missing priority or area path.
  2. Classify each item by type, priority, and area path.
  3. Flag high-confidence duplicates for closure.
  4. Flag stale items (unchanged > 90 days).
  5. Produce a triage report in .copilot-tracking/workitems/triage/.
  6. Present the report awaiting approval before applying changes (Partial autonomy).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
