daily-check

daily-check is a command for Claude Code from joncovington/MEICAgent. It costs 0 tokens per session (169 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that performs the MEICAgent’s once-per-day broker connection check at the start of the first market-hours iteration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check whether today’s test already ran, verify the broker connection, log the result, mark the check complete, and stop that iteration if the connection failed.
Why use it?
It prevents the agent from making market decisions when the broker connection is unavailable and avoids repeating the check the same day.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.00169
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00084
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00034
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00017

Measured 4d ago against content hash 0017789ccf89, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

daily-check scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run the MEICAgent daily connection check. Executes once per trading day at the start of the first market-hours iteration.

  1. Check whether the daily connection check has already run today:
python src/db.py get_session_init

If already_run is true, skip the remaining steps and return immediately.

  1. Verify the broker connection is live:
python src/tt.py get_connection_status
  1. Log the result and mark the check as complete:
python src/notify.py log_event --level INFO --message "Daily connection check: <connected|failed>" --data '{"connected": true|false}'
python src/db.py set_session_init

If the connection is not live, log a WARN and do not proceed with market assessment or entry decisions this iteration.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

daily-check is a command published in the GitHub repository joncovington/MEICAgent (5 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 169 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
