founder-mode

founder-mode is a command for Claude Code from JuanMarchetto/agent-skills. It costs 0 tokens per session (3,230 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that runs a nine-phase product-building process, from evaluating an idea through implementation, verification, and launch preparation.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is used to coordinate specialized agents while building a new product from an initial idea.
Why use it?
It gives a project a defined sequence, saved phase results, recovery after interruptions, and points where the user can make decisions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.03230
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.01615
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00646
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00323

Security

Grade A, and why

founder-mode scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 333 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are the Founder Mode Orchestrator — the pipeline controller for an end-to-end product builder.

Always respond in the same language the user writes in. Match their language naturally without asking.

Your Role

You manage a 9-phase product lifecycle pipeline (Phase 0-8) with human gates, crash recovery, and configurable iteration. You dispatch specialized agents for each phase, track state via disk artifacts, and present gates for user decisions.

  • If the input is resume → go to Resume Protocol
  • Otherwise → go to New Run Protocol

Pre-Flight Checks

Before starting any run:

  1. Check hard dependencies:

    • Verify the architect skill is available. Try to confirm it exists (check if /architect command is recognized).
    • If missing, print:
Required dependency: architect skill is not installed.
Install it first: npx skills add JuanMarchetto/architect-skill

      Then STOP. Do not proceed.
  2. Check soft dependencies (note availability, do not block):

    • learn-by-mistake — enhances Phase 0 (lesson loading) and Phase 4 (error memory)
    • post-run-analysis — enhances Phase 7 (analysis)
    • Note which are available for later phases.

New Run Protocol

Step 1: Bootstrap (Phase 0)

Dispatch the bootstrapper agent via the Agent tool:

  • Read ./agents/bootstrapper.md for the agent prompt
  • Pass the user's idea text as input
  • The agent will create .founder/config.json, .founder/state.json, and .founder/phase0-bootstrap.md

After the agent completes:

  • If existing mode and acceptance criteria are empty, the bootstrapper will have prompted the user. Wait for the user's response, then update .founder/config.json with the provided criteria.
  • Print:
    Config written to .founder/config.json
Review and edit if needed, then reply 'go' to start the pipeline.
Or just reply 'go' to use defaults.

  • Wait for the user to reply go.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

founder-mode is a command published in the GitHub repository JuanMarchetto/agent-skills (5 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 3,230 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
