init

init is a command for coding agents from kenrogers/elevenlabs-claude-plugin. It costs 11 tokens per session (446 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project setup command that adds ElevenLabs development knowledge to Claude Code. ElevenLabs is a service for generating and understanding audio, including speech.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before building ElevenLabs features so Claude can use the project's local knowledge file and documentation references.
Why use it?
It gives the project API guidance, best practices, and documentation references, and can refresh its documentation index.

Command

Installs and runs on its own, but its text points at files inside its plugin — anything it tells you to read at a ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} path is only there once the plugin is installed. Installing the plugin gets both.

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00011 $0.00446
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00223
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00045

Measured 4d ago against content hash 77c44b8b3903, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

init scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

  1. Inform the user that this process will give Claude access to ElevenLabs development knowledge including API patterns, best practices, SDK usage, and documentation references. Use the AskUserQuestion tool to ask the user if they want to continue.
  2. Create the .claude/elevenlabs/knowledge/ directory in the user's project using the Bash tool with mkdir -p command.
  3. Copy the file ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/general-elevenlabs-knowledge.md from within the plugin's installation directory to the user's project .claude/elevenlabs/knowledge/ directory using the Bash tool with cp command.
  4. Run the doc index update script to fetch the latest documentation index:
    node "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/update-docs-index.js" "$(pwd)/.claude/elevenlabs/knowledge/general-elevenlabs-knowledge.md"

This fetches the latest doc index from elevenlabs.io/docs/llms.txt and appends it to the knowledge file. If it fails, warn the user that the bundled snapshot was used and docs may be stale.
  5. If CLAUDE.md does not exist in the project root, create it. Then append the following import line:
    # ElevenLabs Knowledge

ElevenLabs knowledge can be found at @.claude/elevenlabs/knowledge/general-elevenlabs-knowledge.md

  6. Scan the project for relevant files and suggest skills:
    • If package.json or requirements.txt exists → suggest /elevenlabs:add-tts for adding speech to the app
    • If any voice agent or chatbot code is detected → suggest /elevenlabs:build-agent
    • If an ElevenLabs agent ID is found in env files → suggest /elevenlabs:test-agent
  7. Inform the user that the process is complete and recommend:
    • Run /elevenlabs:help to see all available commands and skills
    • Fetch the latest docs before writing ElevenLabs code for the most current API patterns
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
