vocero-crm: Command for Claude Code

.specify/extensions/git/commands/speckit.git.validate.md

speckit.git.validate is a command for Claude Code from kevinrivm/vocero-crm. It costs 8 tokens per session (446 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of speckit.git.validate, MIT.

A Git command that checks whether the current branch name follows the project's feature-branch format. It also looks for the matching specification folder under specs/, where the planned work is recorded.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to validate sequential branches such as 001-feature-name or timestamp branches such as 20260319-143022-feature-name, and to confirm their corresponding specs/ directory exists.
Why use it?
It catches branch names that do not meet the project's numbering or timestamp rules and warns when the related specification is missing. If the directory is not a Git repository, it reports that validation was skipped.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00008 $0.00446
Opus 5 $0.00004 $0.00223
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

speckit.git.validate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Validate Feature Branch

Validate that the current Git branch follows the expected feature branch naming conventions.

Prerequisites

  • Check if Git is available by running git rev-parse --is-inside-work-tree 2>/dev/null
  • If Git is not available, output a warning and skip validation:
[specify] Warning: Git repository not detected; skipped branch validation

Validation Rules

Get the current branch name:

git rev-parse --abbrev-ref HEAD

The branch name must match one of these patterns:

  1. Sequential: ^[0-9]{3,}- (e.g., 001-feature-name, 042-fix-bug, 1000-big-feature)
  2. Timestamp: ^[0-9]{8}-[0-9]{6}- (e.g., 20260319-143022-feature-name)

Execution

If on a feature branch (matches either pattern):

  • Output: ✓ On feature branch: <branch-name>
  • Check if the corresponding spec directory exists under specs/:
    • For sequential branches, look for specs/<prefix>-* where prefix matches the numeric portion
    • For timestamp branches, look for specs/<prefix>-* where prefix matches the YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS portion
  • If spec directory exists: ✓ Spec directory found: <path>
  • If spec directory missing: ⚠ No spec directory found for prefix <prefix>

If NOT on a feature branch:

  • Output: ✗ Not on a feature branch. Current branch: <branch-name>
  • Output: Feature branches should be named like: 001-feature-name or 20260319-143022-feature-name

Graceful Degradation

If Git is not installed or the directory is not a Git repository:

  • Check the SPECIFY_FEATURE environment variable as a fallback
  • If set, validate that value against the naming patterns
  • If not set, skip validation with a warning
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
