scaffold

scaffold is a command for Claude Code from kid-sid/claude-spellbook. It costs 0 tokens per session (417 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project starter that creates the basic files and structure for a new service or software project. It supports several languages and frameworks, including TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, and Svelte.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to start an API service, web app, command-line tool, or library, after choosing the language, framework, project type, and name.
Why use it?
It removes the repetitive setup work before development starts. The generated project includes documentation, local development configuration, testing, building, and checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00417
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00209
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00083
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00042

Measured 6d ago against content hash f1c8035eafa5, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

scaffold scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Scaffold a new service or project with production-ready boilerplate.

Instructions

  1. Ask the user (if not already specified):

    • Language/framework: TypeScript (Express/Fastify), Python (FastAPI/Django), Go (net/http/Chi), Rust (Axum/Actix), Svelte (SvelteKit)
    • Service type: API service, web app, CLI tool, library
    • Name: project/service name (kebab-case)
  2. Generate the project structure based on the selected stack:

For every project type

  • README.md — with prerequisites, quickstart (3 commands), config reference
  • CLAUDE.md — project-specific context for Claude Code
  • .gitignore — language-appropriate
  • Dockerfile — multi-stage build (from containerization skill)
  • docker-compose.yml — app + DB + Redis for local dev
  • .github/workflows/ci.yml — lint, test, build, security scan (from ci-cd skill)
  • .claude/settings.local.json — hooks for the chosen language
  • Makefile — install, dev, test, build, lint targets

For API services, additionally

  • Health check endpoint (/health/live, /health/ready)
  • Structured logging setup (from observability skill)
  • Prometheus metrics endpoint (/metrics)
  • Error handling middleware
  • Request ID / correlation ID middleware
  • OpenAPI spec stub

For web apps (Svelte), additionally

  • Layout with error boundary
  • Auth guard pattern
  • Environment variable handling
  1. Copy relevant tool configs from the spellbook:

    • Run the equivalent of tools/install.sh <language>
  2. Initialize git and create initial commit.

  3. Print a summary of what was created and next steps.

Output

A complete, runnable project skeleton. The user should be able to cd into it, run make dev, and have a working service.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

scaffold is a command published in the GitHub repository kid-sid/claude-spellbook (188 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 417 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
