What it actually says

Import one or more APEXLang applications into APEX. Always validates first.

Usage:

  • /import — imports the default app ($APEX_APP_ID) from apex/app{id}/
  • /import 101 — imports app 101 from apex/app101/
  • /import 100 101 102 — validates and imports each app in sequence

Steps:

  1. Resolve the list of app IDs:
    • If $ARGUMENTS is provided, treat it as a space-separated list of app IDs
    • Otherwise, use $APEX_APP_ID as the single app ID
  2. Open a SQLcl session and connect using the saved connection: 
    sql /nolog
connect -name "$SQLCL_CONNECTION"
  3. For each app ID, run validation first: 
    apex validate -input /path/to/apex/app{id}
    If validation fails for any app, stop and report the errors — do not proceed with import.
  4. If all apps pass validation, confirm with the developer before importing
  5. For each app ID, run the import: 
    apex import -workspace $APEX_WORKSPACE -input /path/to/apex/app{id}
  6. Confirm each import completed successfully
  7. Report any warnings or messages returned by the import

Important: importing replaces the entire application. Make sure all changes are included in the APEXLang files before proceeding.
