obsidian-llm-wiki: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/paper-summary.md

paper-summary is a command for Claude Code from mickeytony0215-png/obsidian-llm-wiki. It costs 16 tokens per session (349 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that reads a research paper and fills a structured summary in an open note. It covers the research question, assumptions, method, technical details, strengths, and weaknesses.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to document and compare technical papers, record their algorithms or frameworks, capture formulas and optimisation goals, and note limitations for later reference.
Why use it?
It gives a paper a consistent summary format and warns when the source note has not been reviewed or contains known concerns. Disagreements with the paper can be marked for verification.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00016 $0.00349
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00175
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00035

Measured 12d ago against content hash 5156655c8bd0, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

paper-summary scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Review-gate check (soft)

Before running, check review_status:

  • unreviewed: warn — "This note has not been audited. The summary may inherit errors. Running /review-note first is recommended. Continue?"
    • If the user continues, prepend to the summary: > [UNREVIEWED] This summary is produced from an unreviewed note and may contain errors. After review, this banner can be removed.
  • disputed: continue, but prepend: > [DISPUTED] This paper has known concerns (see review_notes). The summary is for reference only.
  • reviewed / reviewed_with_notes: run normally

Note: this skill must not change review_status (only /review-note can do that). If you encounter content that disagrees with the PDF while running, mark the passage with [VERIFY] in the note and notify the user.

Main flow

Analyze the paper note I have open and fill in the following sections:

  1. Research question — one paragraph: what problem does this paper solve?
  2. System model / scenario assumptions — list the key assumptions
  3. Proposed method — describe the core algorithm / framework
  4. Key technical details — formulas and optimization objective
  5. Strengths and weaknesses — give concrete critique, not "room for improvement"
  6. Relation to my research — connect to the user's domain from SKILL.md

Use the output language specified in SKILL.md (keep technical terms in their original form). Write directly into the note's corresponding sections.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
