trainer-demo-deploy: Command for Claude Code

.github/prompts/design-diagram.prompt.md

design-diagram is a command for Claude Code, GitHub Copilot from MicrosoftLearning/trainer-demo-deploy. It costs 9 tokens per session (584 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that creates a Python picture of an Azure system, showing its cloud resources, network connections, and data flow. Azure is Microsoft's cloud computing platform.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to generate a PNG architecture diagram from an Azure project assessment.
Why use it?
It turns an architecture description into a visual overview that is easier to inspect and discuss.

Written for Claude Code and GitHub Copilot: argument-hint in frontmatter, but also a Copilot chat mode or prompt. Also seen: model in frontmatter; mentions Codex.

This is MicrosoftLearning/trainer-demo-deploy's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and GitHub Copilot how to work on trainer-demo-deploy itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything trainer-demo-deploy configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00009 $0.00584
Opus 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00234
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00002 $0.00117
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00058

Security

Grade A, and why

design-diagram scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Generate Architecture Diagram

Create a Python architecture diagram using the diagrams library that visualizes all Azure resources, network topology, and data flow for the project.

Mission

Read the architecture assessment, extract all Azure resources and their relationships, and generate a Python script that produces a PNG architecture diagram following the az-azure-diagrams skill conventions.

Scope & Preconditions

  • generated-scenarios/${input:projectName}/02-architecture-assessment.md must exist
  • Read .github/skills/az-consolidated/SKILL.md for diagram conventions, icon catalog, and naming conventions
  • Use the diagrams Python library (pre-installed in dev container)

Inputs

Variable Description Default
${input:projectName} Project name matching the generated-scenarios/ folder Required

Workflow

Step 1: Read Architecture

Read generated-scenarios/{projectName}/02-architecture-assessment.md for the full resource list, network topology, and data flow paths.

Step 2: Design Diagram Layout

  • Group resources by Azure resource group or logical tier
  • Show network connectivity (VNets, subnets, private endpoints)
  • Include data flow arrows with labels
  • Use the correct Azure icons from the diagrams skill icon catalog

Step 3: Generate Python Script

Follow the az-azure-diagrams skill template structure:

  • File header with project metadata
  • Diagram context with project name as title
  • Cluster groupings for resource groups or tiers
  • Edge definitions for data flow

Step 4: Execute and Verify

Run the Python script to produce the PNG output. Verify the image renders correctly.

Step 5: Save Artifacts

Save to generated-scenarios/{projectName}/03-architect-diagram.py.

Output Expectations

└── 03-architect-diagram.png # Rendered output

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

design-diagram is a command published in the GitHub repository MicrosoftLearning/trainer-demo-deploy (31 stars, last pushed 11d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 9 tokens to every session and 584 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
