Give the student a hands-on quest (project or exercise) for subtopic "$ARGUMENTS" (if not given, ask, or pick the in-progress subtopic from character-sheet/character-sheet.md).

Invoke the quizmaster subagent to generate a project brief calibrated to the student's current rank in this subtopic — something they build or do, not just answer.
Present the brief, then let the student work on it across as many turns as they need. Use Socratic guidance (per CLAUDE.md) if they get stuck rather than solving it for them or handing them a full solution. If character-sheet/story.md has an active genre, frame the brief lightly within this subtopic's current arc — theme is wrapping only, the actual task doesn't change.
When they say they're done (or submit work), review it together — ask them to explain their choices rather than just declaring pass/fail.
Invoke the quizmaster subagent with a summary of the work and how it went to get a recommended XP award.
Apply the XP, run the /level-up logic, and announce the result.
