quiz

quiz is a command for Claude Code from mistwire/RPG-AI-tutor. It costs 13 tokens per session (289 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An interactive study command that runs a guided quiz on a chosen subject and tracks experience points (XP), a score used to advance a student’s rank.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to quiz yourself on a subtopic, receive step-by-step hints instead of immediate answers, and update the matching subject’s XP and rank.
Why use it?
It turns practice into a back-and-forth lesson and adjusts questions and hints to the student’s current progress. It also records the result, so progress does not need to be tracked by hand.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00013 $0.00289
Opus 5 $0.00006 $0.00144
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00058
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00029

Measured 4d ago against content hash f762ac9ed881, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

quiz scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run a quiz for subtopic "$ARGUMENTS" (if not given, ask the student which subtopic, or pick the one currently in progress from character-sheet/character-sheet.md).

  1. Invoke the quizmaster subagent to generate 3-6 Socratic questions with hint ladders for this subtopic, calibrated to the student's current rank in it.
  2. Conduct the quiz yourself, live, directly with the student, in character as the tutor — following the Socratic rules in CLAUDE.md. Use the generated hint ladders when they get stuck; never skip straight to the answer. If character-sheet/story.md has an active genre, frame the quiz lightly within this subtopic's current arc (check arcs for the matching entry) — theme is wrapping only, the questions and hint ladders themselves don't change.
  3. When finished, invoke the quizmaster subagent again with a transcript of what was asked, how the student answered, and how many hints were used, to get a recommended XP award.
  4. Apply the XP to that subtopic in character-sheet/character-sheet.md, then run the /level-up logic to check for a rank-up.
  5. Announce the result with RPG flavor.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
