Commands for shrinking the database records of old closed issues by replacing their full content with summaries. An issue is a tracked task, bug, or piece of work.

Previewing eligible issues, compacting all or selected issues, choosing a compression tier, using parallel workers, and viewing storage statistics.

It reduces storage use in long-running projects, but the original content is discarded from the database and must be recovered from Git history if needed.

This is permanent graceful decay - original content is discarded. Use bd restore <id> to view full history from git if needed.

Useful for long-running projects to keep database size manageable.
