Conductor-Beads: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/conductor-distill.md

conductor-distill is a command for Claude Code from NguyenSiTrung/Conductor-Beads. It costs 6 tokens per session (1,887 once invoked), scanned C, original, Apache-2.0.

A command for turning a completed Conductor track into a reusable project template. A track is a documented unit of project work, and Beads is the required command-line task-tracking tool.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to select a completed track, verify its metadata, and extract that track as a reusable template.
Why use it?
It helps preserve a finished workflow so similar work can start from an existing structure. It stops if the required Beads setup or a completed track is unavailable.

This is NguyenSiTrung/Conductor-Beads's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on Conductor-Beads itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything Conductor-Beads configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00006 $0.01887
Opus 5 $0.00003 $0.00944
Sonnet 5 $0.00001 $0.00377
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00189

Security

Grade C, and why

conductor-distill scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

Conductor Distill

Extract reusable template from track: $ARGUMENTS

1.0 BEADS CHECK

PROTOCOL: Verify Beads is available for template extraction.

  1. Check Beads CLI: Run which bd

  2. Check Beads Initialization:

    • If .beads/ directory does NOT exist:

"⚠️ Beads is not initialized in this project." "Run bd init first, or use /conductor-setup to set up the project."

      • HALT

2.0 TRACK SELECTION

PROTOCOL: Identify track to extract as template.

2.1 Parse Arguments

If track_id provided:

  • Validate track exists in conductor/tracks/<track_id>/
  • Load conductor/tracks/<track_id>/metadata.json

If no track_id:

  1. List Completed Tracks:

    • Read conductor/tracks.md
    • Find tracks marked [x] (completed)
  2. If completed tracks found:

"Select a completed track to extract as template:"

    # Track ID Description
    1 <id> <description>

    "Enter track number or ID:"

  3. If no completed tracks:

"⚠️ No completed tracks found." "Complete a track using /conductor-implement first, then extract it as a template."

    • HALT

2.2 Validate Track

  1. Check Track Status:

    • If track is NOT marked [x] in conductor/tracks.md:

"⚠️ Track '<track_id>' is not completed." "Current status: <status>"

"Would you like to:" A) Extract anyway (may have incomplete patterns) B) Complete the track first with /conductor-implement

      • If B: HALT
  2. Check Beads Epic:

    • Read conductor/tracks/<track_id>/metadata.json
    • Extract beads_epic ID
    • If no Beads epic linked:

"⚠️ This track has no Beads integration." "Templates are extracted from Beads epics."

      • HALT

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

conductor-distill is a command published in the GitHub repository NguyenSiTrung/Conductor-Beads (24 stars, last pushed 6mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 6 tokens to every session and 1,887 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it C with 1 finding (hidden instructions). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
