coograph: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/coograph-suggest-multi-models.md

coograph-suggest-multi-models is a command for Claude Code from paullukic/coograph. It costs 0 tokens per session (348 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project command that suggests which AI model each Coograph agent should use. It explains each suggestion and estimates the cost difference, but waits for approval before changing configuration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review model assignments for a project or current ticket, then optionally save the accepted choice in OpenSpec configuration.
Why use it?
It helps compare model choices without silently applying them or writing changes before you accept them.

This is paullukic/coograph's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on coograph itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything coograph configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00348
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00139
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

coograph-suggest-multi-models scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Suggest which model each Coograph agent should run on, for this project or the ticket in hand, with a reason and an estimated cost delta per line. Proposes; never applies without an explicit accept.

The full procedure lives in .github/skills/coograph-suggest-multi-models/SKILL.md. Follow those steps exactly, with these Claude Code specific substitutions:

SKILL.md tool Claude Code equivalent
vscode_askQuestions Ask the user directly, or use AskUserQuestion
read_file Use Read tool
run_in_terminal Use Bash tool

Steps (summary)

  1. Read the models block in openspec/config.yaml (mode, preset). Missing means unset.
  2. Decide scope: a ticket in progress means suggest for the task, otherwise for the project.
  3. Produce one row per agent you propose to change: agent, model, a one-line reason grounded in this project or ticket, and the cost delta against the session model. Say the figures are estimates from list rates recorded 2026-09-20.
  4. Let the user edit or decline. Write nothing before they accept.
  5. On accept, set mode and preset in openspec/config.yaml. A task-scoped choice is not written to disk.

Guardrails

  • Never write config without an explicit accept.
  • Never propose a cheaper model for reviewer or debugger unless the user asks.
  • Say the cache cost out loud when proposing three or more models: caches are model-scoped.
  • Never change the model the user's own session runs on.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
