easypaper-paper-from-metadata

easypaper-paper-from-metadata is a command for Claude Code from PinkGranite/EasyPaper. It costs 0 tokens per session (824 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A command that generates an academic paper from metadata using the EasyPaper Python SDK. If you have a folder of research materials instead, it can first create metadata from that folder.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it with metadata JSON or a research-materials folder to produce a LaTeX paper through EasyPaper.
Why use it?
It avoids manually converting metadata or collected research files into a paper-generation request.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00824
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00412
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00165
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00082

Security

Grade A, and why

easypaper-paper-from-metadata scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Generate a paper directly from metadata using the EasyPaper Python SDK.

Execution Contract

  1. Optional pre-step: if the user has a research-materials folder instead of metadata JSON, run:
metadata = await ep.generate_metadata_from_folder(
    folder_path,
    max_figures=12,
    max_tables=12,
    vision_enrich_figures=True,
)

Then generate from the returned PaperMetaData.

  1. For metadata JSON, load it as a request model:
import json
from pathlib import Path
from easypaper import EasyPaper, PaperGenerationRequest

metadata_path = Path("metadata.json").resolve()
raw = json.loads(metadata_path.read_text(encoding="utf-8"))

def metadata_relative_path(value: str) -> str:
    candidate = Path(value).expanduser()
    if candidate.is_absolute():
        return str(candidate)
    return str((metadata_path.parent / candidate).resolve())

if not raw.get("materials_root"):
    raw["materials_root"] = str(metadata_path.parent)
if raw.get("template_path"):
    raw["template_path"] = metadata_relative_path(raw["template_path"])
if (
    isinstance(raw.get("code_repository"), dict)
    and raw["code_repository"].get("type") == "local_dir"
    and raw["code_repository"].get("path")
):
    raw["code_repository"]["path"] = metadata_relative_path(raw["code_repository"]["path"])

request = PaperGenerationRequest.model_validate(raw)
metadata = request.to_metadata()
options = {
    "output_dir": request.output_dir,
    "save_output": request.save_output,
    "compile_pdf": request.compile_pdf,
    "figures_source_dir": request.figures_source_dir,
    "target_pages": request.target_pages,
    "enable_review": request.enable_review,
    "max_review_iterations": request.max_review_iterations,
    "enable_planning": request.enable_planning,
    "enable_exemplar": request.enable_exemplar,
    "enable_vlm_review": request.enable_vlm_review,
    "enable_user_feedback": request.enable_user_feedback,
    "artifacts_prefix": request.artifacts_prefix or "",
}

result = await EasyPaper(config_path=str(Path("easypaper_config.yaml").resolve())).generate(
    metadata,
    **options,
)
  1. Validate the metadata before generation:
    • Required prose fields are non-empty: title, idea_hypothesis, method, data, experiments.
    • references may be empty, but warn the user because citation quality will be weaker.
    • Figure ids start with fig: and table ids start with tab:.
    • Folder-generated metadata has absolute materials_root and relative POSIX figure/table paths.
    • Figure/table counts stay within the selected max_figures / max_tables caps.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

easypaper-paper-from-metadata is a command published in the GitHub repository PinkGranite/EasyPaper (5 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 824 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
