think-audit-reasoning

think-audit-reasoning is a command for Claude Code from product-on-purpose/thinking-framework-skills. It costs 29 tokens per session (312 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A three-part review of whether a conclusion is supported by its evidence. It separates facts from assumptions, checks the reasoning steps, and reviews alternative viewpoints.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to audit research findings, technical decisions, or other conclusions where the quality of the reasoning matters.
Why use it?
It exposes weak evidence, risky leaps, and competing interpretations before a conclusion is trusted.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00312
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00156
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00062
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

think-audit-reasoning scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run the think-audit-reasoning recipe: 3 skills chained in a fixed order, carrying forward only the compressed artifact at each handoff.

The compression is the point. Do not paste a whole artifact into the next step; carry exactly what each handoff names, so the chain stays cheaper and sharper than running the skills back to back.

Operationalizes the library's epistemic positioning. Run in order, carrying forward only the flagged items:

  1. think-evidence-vs-inference-sort -> carry the load-bearing unknowns.
  2. think-ladder-of-inference-check -> carry the riskiest rung and the alternative interpretation.
  3. think-parallel-perspectives-review -> carry the synthesis and central tension.

Composite artifact: a reasoning audit - which claims are actually supported, where the leaps and alternative readings are, and a verdict on whether the conclusion can be trusted. Full prose: recipes/audit-reasoning.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
