cc-equity-research: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/discover.md

discover is a command for Claude Code from prof-little-bear/cc-equity-research. It costs 20 tokens per session (482 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An idea-discovery command helps investigate investment opportunities through themes, supply chains, alternative ways to express an idea, government contracts, systematic screens, or sector reviews.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to study market themes, map suppliers and customers, find related companies, screen stocks by characteristics, review federal contract activity, or assess a sector.
Why use it?
It gives a structured starting point when you know you want investment ideas but have not chosen how to search for them.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00020 $0.00482
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00241
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00048

Measured 9d ago against content hash 20f769442b7b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

discover scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

The user invoked /discover. This is the idea-discovery category.

Step 1 — Routing.

  • If $ARGUMENTS clearly matches one of the skills below (e.g., "themes", "supply-chain on NVDA", "screen for value"), go straight to Step 3.
  • Otherwise, ask the user which lens they want. Present the menu below verbatim (table or numbered list) and end with the default closer: "or just describe what you want — I'll route."

Step 2 — Menu to present:

# Skill Use when
1 themes reading what the market is rewarding from the numbers up, no sector bias
2 supply-chain mapping upstream / downstream from a name or theme to find hidden champions
3 alt-plays finding a better-priced expression of a thesis you already hold
4 gov-contracts federal contract awards as a leading revenue indicator
5 idea-generation systematic screens — value / growth / quality / short / special-situation
6 sector-overview sector-level state of play

End with: "Or just describe what you want — I'll pick the right lens."

Step 3 — Load and follow:

  • 1 / themes → community-skills/discover/themes.md
  • 2 / supply-chain → community-skills/discover/supply-chain.md
  • 3 / alt-plays → community-skills/discover/alt-plays.md
  • 4 / gov-contracts → community-skills/discover/gov-contracts.md
  • 5 / idea-generation → anthropic-equity-research-skills/idea-generation/SKILL.md
  • 6 / sector-overview → anthropic-equity-research-skills/sector-overview/SKILL.md
  • Free-text → match to the closest skill; ask one clarifying question only if truly ambiguous.

Read the chosen file and execute its workflow.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

discover is a command published in the GitHub repository prof-little-bear/cc-equity-research (88 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 482 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
